Crafts Council
The Crafts Council is the national development agency for contemporary crafts in the UK. We intend to position the UK as the global centre for the making, seeing and collecting of contemporary craft. Craft is a growing industry worth over £800 million and contributes to the UK's reputation as a world leader in creativity.
We work with a strategic choice of partners to:
- make contemporary craft exciting and relevant to the widest possible audience
- nurture and support makers and craft professionals throughout their careers
- promote the teaching and studying of contemporary craft within schools
- identify the needs of the sector through in-depth research
- grow the market for the sale of contemporary craft to collectors, museums, businesses and the general public.
We act as an exchange for knowledge of, support for and expertise on contemporary crafts.
